Olathe South High School presented The Jellybean Conspiracy Show at 7 p.m. Friday, April 18, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 in the school auditorium. Filmed by Director John Altman for an upcoming documentary, it was a life changing experience for many.
"The Jellybean Conspiracy was a life-changing experience. I have had an interest into going into special education as a career and this show nurtured and sparked that interest even more. The kids in the life skills class that we worked with truly taught me what unconditional love looks like and I can only hope that I gave to them what they deposited in my heart." ---Emily Moore, Olathe South Senior
"The Jellybean Conspiracy was truly so much more than a play. It was an incredible experience that I definitely won't forget. I made so many great relationships with people whom I likely would never have met otherwise. I hope this show continues on with success and never stops influencing communities the way it did ours." --Justin Kirk, Olathe South Senior
"Seeing the smiles on these kids faces, it was probably one of the best things that I saw come out of the show. This was the chance for them to go out there and to have a good time, to feel as if they belong. It just filled me with so much joy. I can't tell you how many times they brought me to tears. It was just awesome." --- Justin Boateng, Olathe South Senior
"This show allowed everyone to see life in a whole new way. It became so much bigger than a production on a high school stage. It taught all of us that life is not divided into sections of time but rather into different achievements. The Jellybean Conspiracy allowed us all to celebrate our achievements and successes together and in doing so we became a community that can never be replaced or reproduced." --Meredith Fitzsimons, Olathe South Senior
"This was by far the BEST production I have ever seen. The message that this sent out to everyone was wonderful. ... It would be great if all students and staff members could see this play." --Natalie Browning, Principal (Prairie Center Elementary)
"This has been the neatest, most heart warming experience that our family has ever encountered." --Kathy Stanley
"I was moved by the message and the Show. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see such an awe-inspiring show!" --Pat Kalowski (Sign Language Interpreter - Olathe School District)
"This was the best show I have ever had the chance to direct. All drama teachers should plan to do this play as their next show. It will move you, your students, your staff and administrator, as well as your parents and community in a way that no other show will. This is a must- produce play. You will open your eyes to a fresh new world of theatre. I guarantee you will love this experience." --David Tate Hastings - Olathe South High School drama teacher
